INTEGRATIVE APPROACH TO THERAPY 
Our therapeutic modalities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Mindfulness Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT),  Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR Therapy, and Clinical Hypnotherapy.  Our psychotherapists will explore treatment options with you in order to assess the most appropriate therapy based on your treatment plan, underlying needs, and appropriateness.

Our mission is to support you to clear the “negative core beliefs,” and “painful emotional memories,” perpetuating distressful emotions and behaviour down at their root. This is where change occurs. If you are thinking negatively about yourself or others, or have adopted a negative self-image, it probably means that you internalizing unhealthy levels of guilt, shame and blame. A safe, supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship is needed to explore these negative belief systems and to give you the skills to move forward with greater courage, authenticity and choice.

Our easy to use online  platform requires no complicated downloads!  You can connect with your therapist  quickly and efficiently from your computer, tablet or smart phone.   At the time of your  appointment you will login online through the confirmation appointment email that will be sent to you. Simply click, “Join Appointment,”   and your session with your therapist will begin immediately. Our online platform is secure and confidential - PIPEDA/PHIPA complaint. 

OUR COMMITMENT  
Starting therapy can be challenging and experiencing anxiety at the onset is normal.  Therapy is a process and it takes a bit of time  to be able to get to the place where you can feel comfortable opening up and sharing your story. We understand what it means to start this journey. Every effort on our part will be made to make you feel accepted, validated,  and supported  with the issues you bring.  If you do not feel that your therapist is a good fit, simply let us know and we will support you to transitioning to a therapist better suited to your issues and personality.

People seek therapy for different reasons. One of the most popular reasons has to do with emotions. Emotions can be challenging and most find it difficult to mange them. Therapists can help you manage your emotions and decrease the distress that you may be experiencing. Psychotherapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, EMDER and Internal Family Systems can help you regulate emotions more effectively. 
 
Regardless of the therapeutic orientation, the most important factor in successful therapy is the alliance between therapist and client. Our therapists will listen to your story, help you to make sense of your experiences, and will allow you to lead where you feel comfortable. The goal is to empower you with the skills, tools and know how to move forward successfully.

Online therapy is a very good option to learn to self-regulate emotions. Research validates that online therapy can be effective just as in person therapy. The benefit of online therapy is convenience and access. At My Therapy.ca, we can connect you to a qualified and experienced registered psychotherapist to help you work through challenging situations.


Counselling typically refers to consultations that are more short-term (typically 1 to 8 sessions), which can be resolved more or less on the conscious level. Psychotherapy is more longer term and goes deeper. It examines a person’s psychological history in depth and resolves  issues such as anxiety, depression and trauma. The goal of psychotherapy is not to change you. Rather, is is about making you a better person- more aware, compassionate, empathic and accepting of yourself and others.   

Research has shown that 75 percent of people who enter psychotherapy derive some benefit from it. Psychotherapy has proven to create positive changes in emotions and behaviour and linked with positive changes in the brain and body. 

In psychotherapy you can expect too develop better relationship skills, achieve personal goals, overcome issues such as depression and anxiety, boost self-confidence, improve overall mood, and think more positively. You will also find yourself taking more responsibility  than blaming others. Additionally, you can develop a better self-image and live less with guilt and shame. 




When your first appoinment is booked, you will receive a confirmation appointment email. Simply go to your appointment email and click  on the Tele-Health link at the exact time of your appointment.  Once you click the link,  the video screen comes up and you are ready to go. Its that easy!



The cost of a therapy session at My Therapy.ca is between $50 and  $150.00 per hour.   

Senior Therapist : $150.00
Intermediate Therapist: $110.00
Student Therapist: $50.00

All prices include H.S.T.

Payment is received after  each session and a  invoice will be emailed to you once your credit card has been charged.
Many extended  health insurance plans cover the services of Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers (MSW), in the Province of Ontario. 

OHIP (Onatario Health Insurance Plan) does not cover the costs associated with our services.

If you will be using your health insurance, please have your information ready for the intake team. It is important the therapist you meet has the credentials necessary for coverage.

You may want to ask yourself some of these questions when you are using health insurance: Do I have coverage for mental health services? What is the coverage amount?  Has my deductible been met? What is the coverage cost per therapy session? Is approval required from my primary care physician?

​After each appoinment you will receive an invoice to submit to your insurance company. My Therapy.ca does not offer direct billing.

WE BELIEVE  in an integrated approach to therapy where the mind, emotions,  and body are accounted for in the recovery and healing process.   When we are experiencing emotional distress our entire being experiences the pain.   Letting go of pain by challenging unhealthy thought patterns, letting go of resentments and resolving painful emotions from the past, and releasing tension from the muscles and nervous system all work together to create better mental and physical health.  


WE SUPPORT  our clients  to understand their defences, or the ways we block ourselves from living our true potential, into healthy ways of relating to self, others and the world.  Underlying much of emotional distress, anxiety and depression are suppressed emotions having to deal with our “unacceptability,” as persons.  



WE ENCOURAGE our clients to embrace their authentic selves by courageously challenging the negative self-talk  of the “false selves,”,   to accept  negative emotions simply as  underlying needs to met,  and making a commitment to stop the cycles of shame, guilt and blame. Positive change happens when we become more like ourselves rather than trying to be something others want us to be.
